So here's the deal. This is a good message, but it's a ridiculous way of getting it across. It's annoying, it's dull, the "better not hear" is vaguely intimidating, and frankly, turning a major political and military issue, not to mention the loss of hundreds of lives, into spam is simply tacky. To all those who received this, virus scan your computers now, these things are never safe. Imagine taking a lick of a lollipop that 200 other people have licked. Mmmm, diseasy good.

That said, I don't want to just delete it, or break it up. Partly it's because I've got a friend who's in the armed services, partly it's because these pictures are actually quite nice, and partly it's fear that whoever started this will "come and get me" like the message states. (Ironically, I'm so up to my ass in spam-based curses, I think they're actually cancelling each other out). So I'm going to do what everyone who hates these things should do.

I've stuck it on a website. Lo and behold, the message is out! I've sent it to everybody! And, because I'm not shoving down their throats and clogging up their mailboxes, somebody might actually read this and think about the quality of the men and women of our armed forces, rather than hunting through their contact list for some people that they like enough to save their e-mail address, but not so much that they don't feel comfortable inflicting this on them. (Hey, Jessie)

You want to send out a message like this, set up a blog. It takes less than 20 minutes more, and an ever increasing number people won't hate your guts. Trust me, Geocities does not make this stuff hard, and it won't cost you a penny.

There, I'm done. Go google yourself.
